Malta is known for countless things such as its in depth past history, beautiful weather all year round and its nice and welcoming people – but most of all the various gorgeous, clear beaches that surround the island, from St. Thomas Bay to Zurrieq Valley to, the quite accurately named, Pretty Bay. Malta is surrounded by tropical beaches that are more than a tourists dream to lay upon and are for everyone from windsurfers to sunbathers. The main coastal resorts and larger sandy beaches located more to the northern side of the island whereas the quieter, more reserved are at the tip of Malta overlooking Gozo. Beaches are not all Malta has to offer but also historic landmarks, for example Malta contains the earliest evidence of human settlement in Malta dating back to over 7,400 years and the Megalithic temples featured are the oldest free-standing stone structures in the world.
